Design your logo yourself with these apps
You have the idea for your new business. You may have had this idea for a minute and now its time to let it shine bright like a diamond. You’ve found your designer, had your kick off the call with them, you’ve sent them the references, how you’d like it to look, the name and idea of the business, you’ve sent the Pinterest boards and saved Instagram photos and now the designer is ready to rock!
And here comes the common problem.
The designer basically disappears or just doesn’t get it exactly how you like it.
Your excitement and patience transform into anxious anger and your whole vibe and schedule are thrown off.
But, there is always another option. You can harass them, send them email after email, that could work, but we are here for efficiency.
Let them be, tell them how you feel, professionally of course, and keep moving.
Its time to meditate, have a tea, coffee or infused water and pop open your laptop. You can design your new logo yourself.
Squarespace has a logo maker as one of its products. I gave it a test run last night. It is super easy. Yes, it is basic. You won’t get an out of this world super killer logo from this app, but what you will get is something nice, clean and bold that speaks to what your brand stands for.
You’ll have the option to design an icon, a word mark and a slogan all in one shot.
And peep this, it’ll cost you 10 bucks! I’ve paid more for bad lunch. So this is a cheap investment that will get the ball rolling. They give you the files you need to make it official. As soon as you pay you can download your files, put them in your Google Docs, business cards, social media avatars and more.
These apps put the power back in your hands so you can get the job done yourself, getting rid of the dependency of a designer.
Every relationship with a designer doesn’t go down like this. A lot of the time it’s smooth sailing. But at times where you need to make a quick decision or get something done fast yourself, these options are a major help.
