I just got put on to James Clear. A wonderful writer and teacher. He writes about lifestyle design by way of creating and sustaining habits. His text has been changing my life.
Quick and dirty summary of this principle:
If we do a little toward our goal each day we get a little closer to our goal each day.
If we put off our goals a little each day we get farther away from our goal each day.
That 1% of effort toward our goals each day compounds and adds up little by little same as bank deposits. And after a stretch of time we will cover massive ground.
The way we think about ourselves plays a big role in how close we come to achieving.
Your personality is made up of how you think, act, and feel. It is your state of being. Therefore, your same thoughts, actions, and feelings will keep you enslaved to the same past personal reality. However, when you as a personality embrace new thoughts, actions, and feelings, you will inevitably create a new personal reality in your future. ― Joe Dispenza
So, in short, we take control of our thinking, that will affect our actions and if we put at least 1% of our actions towards our goals we get closer to happiness. Once we are happy we attract even more wins because we have the capacity to focus and create.
