It is going to take some fuckin’ time. Point. Blank. Now, in between writing your goals and getting started on your passion, business or a mix or both, is consistency. Some persistence.
So we have:
- An Idea
These are core keys. It does not have to be complex. Simple things are hard enough. A couple of tools needed to get what you want and deserve are to follow.
Knowing yourself and what you want, like and believe
Media. It can be social. It can be printed. It can be digital. Fuck it all. (sometimes) Why and what does that mean? Meaning, our focus can and should be on ourselves, on our own needs, wants, goals and desires. The followers and followees, if that’s a thing, why are we so into their lives, and their doings instead of our own? An answer to the problem, time alone. Meditation, visualization, journaling. These few practices bring us closer to who we are and who we would like to be. Much better than double tapping other people’s wins while we get mad, sad and jealous and eat too much ice cream to cope.
Starting what you want to do
We all know starting can often be one of the hardest things to do. Up next to that is staying on course when things become a bit tough. Things always get a little tough, that’s a perfect time to quit and go back to our jobs or just leave our passions, ideas and businesses alone, we could. But why? It is to be expected that things will not always go as planned and will not always be easy or fun. Once we push pass the difficulty, we learn that we are strong enough to overcome hardship and that it is possible and necessary to continue on the path to greatness.
A strong circle
Anyone hating on your ideas, raining on your parade, kick ’em out of the circle. Simple as that and easy as pie. People who are not helping you progress are pulling you back. Move forward and seek out those who will help you in life. Don’t forget to offer help and service yourself and watch that door continue to revolve.
Again, knowing yourself and your business is much better than knowing other people’s stats and movements. Watch for opportunities. Watch for what is working. Kill what is not working, revise the plan and implement again.
Take a break
Working just to work and working through a problem won’t always be the move. Take a break. Take a walk. Smile. Laugh. Do healthy fun things that make you feel good. Then, get back to your focused work with optimism and well being and you may find your answer quickly and with clarity.
It may feel lonely, following your idea, your passion. Making your business your business may feel like it simply isn’t working or it may feel like it is taking too long. Cool. Sometimes the wins will come quick, other times and most times the wins will take a while. Know that you are doing your work and that you have a big strong reason as to why you are doing your work. One foot in front of the other and one step at a time, things will click in your favor. One check on the to do list at a time. These wins will accumulate. The plan will work. The plan will change. The plan may seem broken. Revise it. And go again. Better than quitting and watching the next person doing what you could have done, right?
