There is abundance all around you.

I’ve been listening to Bob Proctor as of late. Mr.Proctor speaks on the law of attraction and the power of positive affirmations. If you’re into meditation, I’d give his abundance meditation a shot. He asks in his abundance meditation to take a look around you and notice all of the abundance. This way of thinking is similar to the idea behind 1000 awesome things, where the author would find joyous meaning behind any and everything from a falling feather to a beautiful house.

Simply said, abundance otherwise known in this case as motivation, is all around us. Motivation is needed and necessary especially once the middle of the year hits and the resolutions have come to an involuntary halt. It is at that point, or arguably before then when we need to be motivated to push through the tough times.

Giving Thanks

A way to stay motivated by seeing whats around us is to give thanks for all that we have. Its taking a step back and giving thanks for shelter, food, warmth, Netflix, apple juice, whatever. It is a marvelous thing to have what we like, and it is empowering being gracious for those very things. The act of thankfulness can lead to putting in the work to keeping those items in stock. And on the other hand, if there are things on our list of wants that we do not yet have, writing those items down with steps on how to acquire them is motivation as well.

Acknowledging Goals

Setting goals is a super motivator.

How do you get to where you want to go if you don’t declare the destination? Dreaming big goals pushes us to reach beyond our initial limits.

Constantly write down and review your goals. Update them, revise them, study them.

You can use pen and paper. You can use Googe Docs, Evernote, Wunderlist, Asana, Trello, or Slack.

The point is to write your goals down and follow through with the action steps to actually getting them done.

Turn Up The Music

The beautiful thing in this life is our very own uniqueness. There is only one you. And you make the rules for you. Take time to see what you like, take time to see what ignites you and gets you hype about your life. For many people, music is key to motivation. Find a streaming service that you like, Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify all are options.

Treat yourself to a get in the zone playlist. Play it when you’re putting your work in. Watch the great results fly in.

Mobile Mentors

There is truly a ton of content available to us these days. Everywhere we turn there is media, advertisements, and content shouting and begging for our attention. Kill that noise, welcome what you genuinely want to absorb and seek it out.

I listen to people that I wish I knew in person but settle for their digital presence. People with extensive experience and knowledge in their field, I find them and listen to what they have to say often. A few people on my mobile mentors list are Ramit Sethi, Paul Jarvis, Benjamin P. Hardy, Tim Ferriss, George Lois, Bob Proctor and last but not least on this short list, Eric Thomas. These guys get me fired up! Find your tribe of leaders, curate their talks and listen to them instead of your hater friend who has no idea what to tell you when things get rough.

Accountability Partner

We can’t do it all ourselves, we aren’t built to. Finding someone to keep us to our goals, someone to help us grow day after day is imperative to a better life. We work harder when we know others are looking at us and depending on us to keep our word.

I’ve worked with a goals coach in the past and she was simply amazing. As a matter of fact, as I write this, I’m thinking of sending her an email to request her help once more. Your accountability partner can be a best friend, a professional, a lover or someone you meet on the internet. Doesn’t matter who as long as they have your best interest and help you grow.

These are a few ways to stay focused and motivated. Put that work in, its a great feeling to produce.
