The danger leads to the reward
Letting what you’ve practiced guide you when the future seems uncertain
For years I wanted to write and share what I knew with others. But I always hit a snag. I would start to write, then stop. Being persistent was and still is my worst enemy at times. Within the last few months I’ve upped my writing frequency and zoned in on my purpose; help people start and design for their own business. Quickly I’m reaping the benefits, my writing has gotten me booked to teach my own workshop and speak at a conference. I’m esctatic.
Here is how I did it.
With my voice, my vision and knowledge I wrote about what I knew. Design. I kept my aim in front of me. I created a schedule and stuck to it. I wrote blog posts. I wrote newsletters, I sent them out and repeated the process.
And then…
People read the posts and emails, they sent me real time feedback on my articles. Emails from readers were sent to me pushing me to continue writing because my posts were teaching and pushing them. An absolutely amazing feeling.
It can be scary to do the things we want to do. We inflict fear on ourselves for a myriad of reasons. We let that fear cripple us, instead of standing still and letting fear win, we can step into that danger zone and work and watch the wins slowly trickle in. The result of walking toward a goal however scary it may be is much better than slowing down, not marching forward.
I wrote an ebook called Fire Your Designer: An Entrepreneur’s Guide On Do It Yourself Design. This book is very important to me. Writing my first ebook pushed me to find my ultimate purpose. My mission and aim is to make things that look nice, work well and help people reach their goals. Specifically, I want to nudge people to start the business they were always scared to start.
This is a short thank you from me to you for helping me solidify my path.
