The Odds Are Not In Your Favor, So Do It Anyway.
Have you heard of the chances you have of being born? Answer: 1 in 400 Trillion. Yes. Trillion.
That’s crazy, right? It’s a miracle to be here on this planet, living, breathing and reading this.
Chances of a new business succeeding are slim as well. Word has it that 8 out of every 10 new businesses fail.
The question is would you rather live or wonder? It is a stunning adventure to fail at something. And I must say it is rather boring to wonder, to want and to guess how life could be instead of standing up and making a decision to do whatever you’ve been wanting, wishing and wondering about. Babies do it all of the time. A baby is not scared to fail over and over again. Don’t believe me? Just watch.
Look at him. Failure after failure, fall after fall, he gets up and tries again even with a smile on his face. My hero.
As we get older we become fearful of what others think. We hold ourselves to such high standards when it comes to embarrassment. We become so critical and protective of our reputation, not allowing ourselves to look a little silly. We get so scared to show our friends that something didn’t work out for us. It is complete madness.
Holding out on doing that new thing you’ve been wanting to do just to appease others and not seem like you failed is a disservice to yourself in the long run. Being inactive is not the wave. Jumping into your goals and passions, activating your ideas — that’s inspiring regardless of the outcome.
Failure can be fun. It is definitely a marvelous teacher. And remember, “a loss is not a loss, its a lesson.”
Go do that thing!
